12th UK Taiko Festival   30th June – 2nd July 2017


A FEAST OF TAIKO – Friday 30th June, 7:30pm.

This concert features youth taiko groups from Devon, the UK and beyond, including Gyoko Youth Taiko who recently delighted a packed Royal Albert Hall in London, and this year’s headliners, The Dublin Schools Taiko Group, from Dublin, Ohio, USA. TAIKO BEATS – Saturday 1st July, 12 noon.

PULSE & ROLL – Saturday 1st July, 7:45pm.

For this special concert, Kagemusha Taiko are joined from Japan by former Kodo member, Shogo Yoshii,and from the USA by one of the world’s leading taiko performers, Shoji Kameda. The show will also include a special performance of Brother Drum. Tickets are already selling fast, so don’t delay and book online now.

Brother Drum

BROTHER DRUM – Sunday 2nd July, 7:00pm

Brother Drum is the final concert of 12th UK Taiko Festival. Featuring players from England, Scotland, Japan and USA, Brother Drum involves not only the theatrical drama and emotional power of taiko drumming, it also embraces folk and traditional music from those countries, as typified by the title song of the show. Guest artists include: Hibiki Ichikawa, Damian Clarke, Shogo Yoshii, George Whitfield, and Shoji Kameda.

Thanks to the generosity of KAISER DRUMS, we have some great prizes for our raffle this year:
2nd Prize is a pair of LED bachi
1st Prize is a miya-daiko, complete with case and flat stand with wheels.

– Raffle tickets are £5 for a strip of 5, available from the Northcott foyer at all three concerts there.
– The winning tickets will be drawn at the end of the interval during the Pulse & Roll show on Saturday.
– Please note that delivery of the drum is not included in the prize.

Please note that Kagemusha Taiko do not take bookings for accommodation for the 12th UK Taiko Festival. This is something that you need to organise for yourself.
